Commercial Operation of Pakistan Hub 2×660MW Coal Fired Power Plant

On local time August 17th, two sets of 660MW supercritical coal fired units of China Power Hub Power Plant in Pakistan, undertaken by Energy China as EPC and O&M contractor, were put into commercial operation successfully.Located in Hub Town, Lasbela County, Balochistan Province, the Pakistan Hub Coal Fired Power Plant is 55 km away from Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan. The project is accomplished by NWEPDI-TEPC Consortium as the EPC contractor and STDC as the O&M contractor, all of which are subsidiaries of Energy China. During the 168-hour trial run of the two units, the average load rate reached 100%, the operation of the main and auxiliary equipment was safe and stable, and the main technical indicators achieved the Excellent level. The environmental protection facilities for desulfurization, denitrification and dust removal were operated simultaneously, and the emission of smoke, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide was superior to that in local environmental standards.
